The Dolphin Digest
Wrightsville Beach Elementary School Weekly Updates
January 17, 2021
Message from the Principal
Mighty WBS Dolphin Families…
I need you to close your eyes, breathe deeply, and as Oprah Winfrey put it, “…let go, and remind yourself that this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure.” I wish I had a way to quell the storms of our collective souls but alas, all I can say is hang in there, wash your hands, and hold on to hope that Plan A will be our reality in the very near future.
This year will be what we make it…let’s make it amazing! Welcome my friends, to week 21!
Principal Jackson Norvell

January is School Board Recognition Month
The job of a school board member is tough, the hours long and the thanks few and far between. Too often we forget about the personal sacrifices school board members make. They spend hours in meetings and on committees, advocating for our schools. Board members study, discuss, and research so that they can make informed decisions on countless complex issues.
WBS thanks the NHCS Board of Education for their willingness to accept the enormous responsibility of preparing today’s students to become tomorrow’s leaders during such extraordinary times.
CONGRATULATIONS! WBS has 2 more NBPTS Teachers!
According to the NBPTS website, "every student deserves to be taught by an accomplished teacher. National Board Certification was designed to develop, retain, and recognize accomplished teachers and to generate ongoing improvement in schools nationwide. It is the most respected professional certification available in K-12 education."
