Ring Leader Tidbits
~ Shout out to everyone who participated in our assembly last Thursday! It was a great time, and the kids AND staff loved it! Again, we are so lucky to have such a wonderful staff with such a big heart for kids.
~ We have a staff meeting today (Monday) at 3:00 in the library. We will have 2 principals visiting during the meeting, so if you see new "faces" in the crowd, that's why.
~ We need your help! With Lilly gone, we are in need of some information about the schedule she used during your PLC/Extended block time. We have the schedule, as far as whose class she picks up, etc, but we don't have it written down anywhere WHERE she takes them when she has them. I know every grade level varies, so if team leaders could send that information to Laura ASAP about their particular grade level, that would help us out so much as we work to build the schedule for our new hire (once she starts).
~ Just a reminder that Laura's last day will be this Friday. :( We have submitted a name to HR for the new registrar position, and I will let you all know once that is finalized. We are still on the hunt for a replacement for Lilly. We have done several interviews but have not found the perfect "fit" just yet. If you know of anyone, please let me know!
School Bulletin
~ Thank you so much for your votes for the employees of the year. The ballots have been tallied, and the winners have been chosen in the categories of Para, Auxiliary and Professional of the Year. New this year, these names will also be submitted for the DISTRICT para, professional and auxiliary of the year award. Teacher of the Year nominees have been told and given their applications! That committee will meet next week, and we will select our campus winner, based on the rubric given.I think we had more nominees this year than ever before with 10 deserving teachers being nominated! Congratulations to you all!
~ Open House this year will be focused on data and student-led conversations. We will discuss this more in depth at our staff meeting today (Monday). Remember, our theme is Greatest School on Earth! Elicit help from volunteers for decorating, etc!! We do have a list with parents who want to help out, so don't hesitate to ask!
~ Mark your calendars for August 15th! We are excited to welcome back Marcia Tate! If you were at Elkins when we had her the last time, you will remember how great of a PD session she puts on. This will be her training on assessment, and we are looking forward to learning SO much from her. This WILL be a little different than in years past because it will take place on that Thursday of Meet the Teacher Night. However, since all employees report on the 8th for this next year, we should be able to get you the same (if not more) number of days to work in your rooms. Due to her schedule, this was the only date we could get in August, and we will be joined by Greenfield and Northbrook for her presentation. Most likely, it will take place at HDC or HCTC. More information will come as we get closer, but I wanted to make sure everyone knew far enough in advance, since it's different than we have done in years past.
