Hello to our Northpoint Families,
We are in the midst of our Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCAs) in grades 3 and 4. After issues with being able to log on yesterday, today we were able to complete the first components of the math assessment. We will conclude with math tomorrow and complete the reading component next Tuesday and Wednesday.
So much in the world continues to feel heavy, and yet as I pause to focus on the good in my life, I realize I have so much for which to be grateful. Our Northpoint community is included in my many blessings. Despite the challenges we’ve all faced, I continue to be proud of our students and staff – and everything we are learning this year. Although we are “Panther Proud” each and every day, this Friday we will don our school colors and/or Spring Lake Park gear at Northpoint. Please help your student to remember to rock Panther apparel, including socks, clothing, hats, and if they feel like it, wacky hair!
We continue to focus on all aspects of health and safety each day at school. Thank you for your partnership at home to help make sure our schools are safe learning environments for all. And a huge note of thanks to Nurse Tammy for helping us all navigate our proactive and responsive measures as we navigate the impact of COVID-19 throughout this school year.
This coming Monday evening, May 3, Westwood associate principal Tyler Nelson will be joining our PTO meeting to share a bit about the grade four students’ transition to the intermediate school next fall. Please join us at 6:30 p.m. for this WebEx meeting. Visit this link to access the meeting.
Happy May Day this coming Saturday, I hope we can all enjoy a beautiful spring weekend!
Sincerely,
Judi Kahoun
Updates for Extended Flex Learning families
Greetings,
As we move through this last week in April, I am reminded of how incredible this year has been. We have faced challenges and we have shown love and care for ourselves and others like never before. Join me in celebrating all that we have accomplished individually and in partnership by participating in a Spirit Day on Friday, April 30. I will be wearing my SLP gear on Friday. I hope your family will, too.
Having each child feel a sense of value and belonging is as important at the end of the school year as it is in the beginning. Distance learning teachers and I will continue to partner with you to make sure your child feels safe and cared for. Please reach out to me if you have questions or concerns.
As a reminder, this and future emails will share important pieces of information and updates. Please read this entire newsletter.
Take care,
Kimberly Fehringer

Last chance - purchase your "Spamalot" tickets today
This weekend, April 30-May 2, is your last chance to see the live theater event "Spamalot," presented by the talented SLPHS theater cast and crew. Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail, MONTY PYTHON’S SPAMALOT retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. Featuring cows, killer rabbits, and French people. The outrageous, uproarious, and gloriously entertaining story of King Arthur and the Lady of the Lake will delight audiences as they search for the Holy Grail and “always look on the bright side of life.” This is a performance you don't want to miss! Purchase your tickets today.
