Note from Administration
WC Petty Families,
Thank you for your support during the rollout of our first week of hybrid learning. The first two days of having students in-person were a great success! The students were awesome, and they brought a certain kind of cheer and warmth that had been missing for the last ten months. We anxiously await the day that everything can return to normal, so we can see all of our students and families regularly.
Also, we recognize the need to shorten our school dismissal in order to ensure all of our students have time to eat lunch and take a break. The dismissal process will continue to shorten as we fine tune our procedures. Thank you for your continued patience!
Respectfully,
Joanna Gerritsen and Jared Reardon

Buzzzzzz.......Spelling Bee
Congratulations to 5th grader Margo M. for winning the WC Petty Spelling Bee for the second year in a row! Also, congratulations to 5th grader, Iris N., for being named Runner-Up! It took 17 rounds to name the winner and runner-up! Great job, girls! We are all proud of you.
All of this year’s spelling bee contestants did a fabulous job! They did an excellent job representing themselves, their classrooms and our school with pride. Thank you all!
Student Pick-Up Signs
IMPORTANT DROP OFF AND PICK-UP INFORMATION: TRAFFIC FLOW
Arrival
Student drop-off in the morning will begin at 8:20am.
NO STUDENTS SHOULD EXIT THEIR VEHICLE BEFORE A STAFF MEMBER COMES TO LET YOUR CHILD OUT OF THE CAR
A staff member will come to your car to ensure that your child has the yellow Screening Verification Slip filled out and in the clear plastic pouch provided by their teacher.
Please follow the arrows on the map to travel through the parking lot safely.
Please adhere to all stop signs in the parking lot and at the entrance from Tiffany Farms.
Dismissal
If your child is a regular parent pick-up, you will receive a laminated sign you can use each day for the rest of the school year. Please see additional information below.
Please make sure to have this sign with you for each pick-up.
Students will not be released prior to 11:30 am. It is advised that you DO NOT enter the parking lot area any earlier than 11:20 am.
SCREENING VERIFICATION SLIPS ARE REQUIRED FOR EVERY CHILD EVERY DAY!
SCREENING VERIFICATION SLIPS
A pad of these yellow slips were sent home with your child on their first day of in-person learning. Your child is required to bring a yellow Screening Verification Slip EVERY day he or she attends school in person. Slips must also be signed by a parent or guardian. We greatly appreciate your partnership in helping to ensure the safety of our Petty community and all its members.
There are a wide range of symptoms for COVID-19. If your child or anyone in your household exhibits any symptoms or does not feel well, your child(ren) must stay home. If anyone in your household is awaiting results from a COVID-19 test, your child(ren) should stay home.
Attendance Procedures 847-838-8181
If your child will not be in attendance for either in-person or remote instruction for any reason, you must call our Attendance Line (847) 838- 8181. When stating the reason for the absence, please provide details relating to the symptoms that your child is experiencing, specifically if your child has a fever, nasal congestion, sore throat, or a cough, as well as a diagnosis if one has been given by your doctor. Due to the current pandemic, if specific symptoms are not provided for your child, your child may not be able to return to school without a doctor's note. As always, please keep students home if they are not feeling well.
If your child is scheduled to attend in-person for the day but cannot report to the building due to symptoms, they may still participate remotely if they are able. You only need to report absences if your child will not be participating remotely OR in-person.
