Laying the Foundation for Addressing Swallowing and Feeding in Your School District

This presentation will provide information that explains the district's responsibility to address swallowing and feeding disorders including IDEA regulations, recent court cases, educational relevance, and ethical concerns. Barriers and solutions that school-based therapists face when asked to address swallowing and feeding will be presented, including being in a district that isn't addressing the need. Attendees will learn the benefits of having a district-approved procedure that utilizes a team approach.
