3rd Grade Thinkers!
May 7, 2019
Field Trip
We will be taking a field trip to the North Lakeland Discovery Center on Friday, May 31st. We will leave school at 8:25 am and return approximately at 3:25 pm. Permission slips were sent home last week. Please return them to school no later than Tuesday, May 21st.
Parents are welcome to join us as chaperones! However, you will need to transport yourself as we have limited bus space. Please contact your child’s teacher if you will be joining us.
We will be eating lunch at the North Lakeland Discovery Center. Students have the option of bringing their own lunch from home or purchasing a sack lunch from food service. If you are bringing a lunch from home, please make sure that it is in a disposable bag with your child’s name on it.
Please contact your child’s teacher at any time with questions. Thanks!
We are on Instagram! @eres3rdgrade
Our Instagram will mimic our Facebook account. We will post pictures of fun things happening in our classrooms and school! All important information will always be in our weekly newsletters. Our social media accounts are a fun bonus! Some families use Instagram more than Facebook, so we wanted to offer another option to follow our FUN and learning!
Science, Social Studies, & ELA - Oh My!
We will continue our study of plants. We will be outside exploring our forest and pond. In addition, we have some fun gardening projects coming up with Mrs. Schmidt and our Farm to School program!

Our current Virtue is UNITY
Unity helps people work and live together peacefully. When you practice unity, you feel connected to everyone and everything. Unity brings harmony, like the music made by the different instruments in an orchestra. Unity comes when we value each person.
Here are some questions to discuss with your child regarding unity:
- How can people who are different get along?
- What would it be like if every instrument in the orchestra made the same sound?
- What would it be like if every person looked, sounded and thought alike?
- How do differences cause problems in a family?
- How do differences make things go better in a family?
- Name three ways you are different from a favorite friend.
- Name three things you share.
- What can you accomplish in unity with others you cannot do alone?
