Poetry Jam!

November 5th was the school wide poetry jam! Poet Giddy Perez did a fantastic job of engaging a group of about 25 students with writing and performing workshops. At the end of the event we held the actual jam. All of the poet performances were memorable. the three winners are:

1st place: Radhe Mehta

2nd place: Daniel Pritchard

3rd place: Aria Bell

Congratulations to our winners! Radhe will be representing Strawberry Crest at the District Jam with the support of 2nd place poet Daniel Pritchard.

Author Visit

On October 28th I had the privilege of taking several students to meet author Alex Flinn. Jessica Orduna, Yessica Jahuey, Alex Crick, and Nancy Ender listened to Ms. Flinn share how she came to be a writer as well as have her sign some books. Afterward, we spent time at Barnes & Noble browsing for some great books to read.

Digital Citizenship

Each month I will be submitting a digital citizenship video to be played on the morning show as well as posting links to the video in the Media Center group on Edsby. Students are encouraged to view the videos and submit responses in the media center. Students who submit responses will have a chance to be in a drawing each month for a candy bar.
