Parent Collaborative Community
We had a good meeting on Tuesday, thanks to those that could make it! The architects from Architecture 118 were on hand to visit about the building project and to gather ideas on how to promote our project to our community. The consensus was to hold three forums. The first will be at the Open House on September 28. The second will be a Wacky Wednesday Dinner on Wednesday, October 6, and the third is a Town Hall informational meeting on October 19. The first event is for our school families while the other two will focus on all the residents in our district. This is where we need the help from EVERYONE - we need to spread the word to all the folks that vote in our school district, your neighbors. Please take a minute to visit with those that you know and promote our bond project. We don't just WANT a new building, we NEED to replace the annex. More on that at the Open House...
The parents also reported about the beginning of the year. Some of the highlights seem to be the Hot Lunch program, the new staff, students are happy to all be together in the "big" building, parents are happy to be back on campus and in the school, and the After School Program running again are all positive things. Parents also expressed a desire to do more to help individual teachers.
The PCC will meet again on October 12 at 2:30, please consider attending!
Thanks, Mrs. Burke
Bears Boys Basketball 2021 Season
Hello Parents!
Bears Boys Basketball 2021 Season is coming up soon! We are trying to get an idea of who might be interested in playing this year. If your boy/s in grades 4-8 are thinking about it, would you mind contacting Coach Travis or Coach Duneman?
We are shooting to hold some open gyms as soon as we can. Practice will start October 18 (Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 3:30 – 5pm at the Mt Ellis Academy gym). Games are scheduled to start November 1st!
Looking forward to a great year!

Handbook
The Student and Parent Handbook has been sent to you and is on our website. We can give you a paper copy if you would like one. This is a very important document that covers so many topics from recess rules, to what happens on a cold snowy day, to how we deal with bullying. Please take the time to read this and discuss this with your student. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your child's teacher or Mrs. Burke. Thanks. Please sign and return the attached Receipt of handbook form.

PIR DAY - Just a reminder there will be no school on September 24, 2021
Pack an extra mask
We have seen this week that it is a good idea to pack an extra mask for your student in a zip lock bag in their backpack. Then they can switch out during the day for a fresh mask as some are wet 1/2 through the day.
