North Glendale Family Update
April 4, 2021
Good morning!
This week is crunch time to share information regarding Prop R. You will see lots of social. media posts and will be receiving updates from your classroom teacher. We all just want to be sure everyone in the community has accurate information before they had to the polls on Tuesday. And, please be sure to cast your vote!
While walking neighborhoods last week, sharing info about Prop R, I spoke with a young man who was a recent KHS grad. He was so proud to tell me he had just voted in his first election (in November) and he didn't plan to miss a single opportunity to share his voice. He is a great model for me ~ I sometimes assume issues that I am close to are slam dunks (one way or the other) and I really don't need to vote. I have been guilty of letting others carry the vote for me and this young man reminded me that it is a privilege to have my voice heard. Please make pans to vote.
Still on the hunt for information? Let me know and I will be sure to get what you need!
Have a great week and thanks for sharing your kids with me.

Class Placements for 2021-2022
One of those important tasks is creating classes for next year. As you can imagine this is truly a herculean task. We take input from everyone within NG who knows and works with our kids, plus input from you and do our very best to create cohesive groups of kids.
As this is our first year going through this together ~ let me give you a preview....Because this is such a complex and comprehensive process I have to stick to some pretty firm guidelines:
- We will gather parent input until April 18th. The links will close at noon on 4/18.
- Please know ALL input shared via the links below will be shared with current teachers, next years teachers, as well as all ancillary staff.
- I do not accept individual correspondence regarding class placements. It all needs to go into the links below.
- We do not accept individual teacher requests.
- Class lists will be shared on August 1.
- We do not make changes to classlists after they are published August 1.
Links to Add Your Input to the Class Placement Process
Please know that all information will be considered but may not be honored due to limitations of space and number and learning needs. Class placements are not changed once they are published in August.

Prop R
- NG is the only elementary school in Kirkwood WITHOUT a safe and secure entryway?
- Students with mobility challenges cannot enter through the front door of our school?
- All of our adult restrooms require the adult to walk through a learning space?
- Our beautiful building has been victim to spray painted graffiti multiple times this year alone?
All of these issues would be addressed through Prop R as Prop R includes these necessary improvements for North Glendale:
- Safe and secure entrance
- Accessibility to our building
- Renovations for restrooms
- Updated cameras and lighting outside
To hear more you can review a Power Hour with NG specific information HERE. Or, check out this quick video highlighting the safety updates specifically.
Please reach out if I can provide additional information as you prepare to vote in the April 6 election or check out the Prop R info page linked HERE.
St. Louis Area Mass Vaccination Opportunities
All Missouri adults will be eligible to receive COVID vaccination starting April 9. The Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are available for ages 18 and up, and the Pfizer vaccine is available for ages 16 and up.
The state of Missouri and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will open a new mass vaccination program in St. Louis that will be open seven days a week.
The program will launch by April 9 and plans to operate for eight weeks at the Dome at America's Center in downtown St. Louis.
The mass vaccination site will operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week. Eligible residents will be identified through the state's Vaccine Navigator. Eligible Missourians can register online or by calling the state's COVID-19 hotline at (877) 435-8411.
Reminder: please limit checking your student out of school early.
