Welcome from Principal Guinn!
As you may have already heard, our theme for this first year is Growing Uniquely, Rooted Together! Here at Ladera, we want you to know that we will support the uniqueness of your child! Their personality and educational journey are special qualities we will celebrate together. Our common ground is bound by the goal of always keeping the standard of excellence Medina Valley has created for our students and families! I look forward in getting to know you and your child throughout the year!
What a wonderful first week we had!
So many of you played an active/positive role in making this week successful and I want to thank you personally for Seeking First to Understand! Safety will always be our primary focus and with that, our first day dismissal ran a bit long! Thank you for your patience, suggestions and understanding in implementing a safe and successful dismissal process!
Vice-Principal's Desk
Welcome Ladera Elementary's families and community. I wanted to share a little about my belief in education. I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a safe, caring, and engaging atmosphere, in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is my goal as Ladera’s Vice-Principal to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas. There are three foundations that I believe are helpful in establishing such an environment.
The teacher acts as a guide.
Allow your child’s natural curiosity to direct his/her learning.
Promote respect for all things and all people.
Welcome to the Counselor's Corner...
My name is Julie Center and I am excited to serve your children as Ladera’s Licensed School Counselor.
A bit about me…
I am entering my 20th year in education and my 12th year at Medina Valley ISD. I have spent 8 of my wonderful years in education in a Counseling role. It is an honor to be your child's Counselor. The mental health of all of our students is essential to a great education. I will provide classroom guidance throughout the year and soon add a Counselor’s Corner on the Ladera webpage. You can use this to view the topics we are discussing each month and continue the conversation at home. If you need anything, please contact me at julie.center@mvisd.org.

Secure Car/Valet Dismissal...
1. Please be mindful of which side you are on. If your child needs to enter on the left side, please try to pull into the left lane (or right if his/her seat is on the right side). This is for safety purposes.
2. Please stay in your vehicle at all times. If you need assistance, you can roll down your window and raise your hand. Someone should be with you shortly.
3. Please have your Dismissal Tag either hanging on your rearview mirror or holding up so that our escorts can easily refer to them.
4. Please do not block the crosswalk.
Thank you for your continual support in promoting safety!
