Nurse Bonner's Updates
Hope you all stayed safe and warm this weekend and had an opportunity to play in the snow. Sledding and ice skating are great outdoor activities. Here are some more tips on how to do them safely. https://www.healthychildren.org/English/safety-prevention/at-play/Pages/Winter-Safety.aspx
As a reminder, the district has adopted the At-Home Rapid Testing Program that will begin Monday 1/31/22. We will continue with Pooled testing and Symptomatic Testing. Test and Stay and Contact Tracing for in-school close contacts will be discontinued. Nurse Leader Lauren Pushard developed a list of FAQs for staff and students.

Boosterthon- Coming Soon- Look for Sponsors
Boosterthon and the Luce Shine Sprint is returning and will take place March 18th- 29th! This is our major fundraiser of the year, and the proceeds will go to supporting academic enrichment at the school. Boosterthon is a fun, nine-day program that combines world-class character content with a highly-profitable fundraiser. This year's character themes focus on curiosity, practice, confidence, humility, and endurance which are highlighted through documentaries show casing real student-athletes. Here are 2 links to give you more information about the program.

To increase the excitement and school spirit of this event, we’re hoping to provide each student with a FREE custom Luce School t-shirt to wear the day of the Luce Shine Sprint event, at no cost to the student or the school. To make this happen, we need your help! We’re hoping to partner with local businesses to help sponsor these shirts. If you know of or are affiliated with, a business that would be interested in sponsoring shirts for our students, please email Luce CAPT at lucecapt@gmail.com. Here is the Sponsorship Form.

Substitutes Needed (Repost)
Do you have a college-age child coming home for winter break? If so, would they be interested in subbing for the Canton Public Schools while they are here? Subbing is a great way to keep busy, make money and get real-world work experience. In Canton, we have had great success bringing our own, former students back to help support our students and schools during this busy time year. If your child is interested, please have them fill out this sub application packet and email it to Kim Eardley (eardleyk@cantonma.org) to get the process started. If they fill it out before they get home, the process can begin asap!
Students in their first year of college are able to sub at the elementary and preschool levels only.
Students in their second year or beyond can sub at all school levels.
