Boys and Girls State Informational Meeting
Junior students in the top 1/2 of their class have been invited to attend a Boys and Girls State Informational meeting during Advisement on February 13th. American Legion Boys State and American Legion Auxiliary Girls State are premier week-long programs for teaching how the government works while developing leadership skills and an appreciation for rights as a citizen. Participants in either program will have an opportunity to join students from across the state of Minnesota and study the city, county, and state governmental process. As participants, students will run for office, create and enforce laws, and actively participate in all phases of creating and running a working government. This is a great learning experience that can be added to college, job, or scholarship applications next year.
American Legion MN Boys State will be held at St. John's University in June of 2023. Additional information can be found at this link.
American Legion Auxiliary MN Girls State will be held at Bethel University in June of 2023. Additional information can be found at this link.
Invitations to the Boys and Girls State Informational Meeting were emailed to eligible students on Friday, February 3rd. Interested students should RSVP to Ms. Schell at kari.schell@ahschools.us by Sunday, February 12th to attend the meeting. This meeting will provide more information about this exceptional opportunity as well as the process to apply.
Please contact Ms. Schell in the counseling office with any questions.

Registration for Spring Sports begins on February 13th!
Sports Physicals expiring prior to 05/31/2020 will need new ones. Sports physicals cannot expire during the season per MSHSL guidelines.
The students participating in Spring Sports must have a sports qualifying physical on record with the activities office (every three years). If a student has not played a sport at Anoka High School, they must submit a sports physical ahead of time to the activities office (Donna.Spiczka@ahschools.us).
Parents can check your student’s physical date in ParentVue: At the bottom of the Student Information tab is their ‘Activity Screening Date’, again, this date needs to be within three years of the END of the sports season.
If parents cannot remember or have lost their Username and Password for Parent Vue need to call 763-506-HELP or email 506HELP@ahschools.us
Please ensure your student’s physical is up to date. If you are not seeing the athletic activities you are expecting, please verify your student’s physical is current (within 3 years of the END DATE of the activity).
