Progress reports
We will be sending home progress reports with students on Tuesday, March 26th. Please make sure your grades are up to date so they accurately reflect student progress to be printed on Monday, March 25th.
Earbuds and headphones
We’ve been noticing more students wearing their earbuds as they move through the hallways and we’ve heard from some members of ILT that students who are coming into their classrooms, wearing earbuds, are becoming increasingly difficult to redirect about removing earbuds/headphones. While admin is not requiring teachers to follow a certain expectation in their classroom, but if you allow students to wear their headphones in the classroom, make sure you tell them to put them away before the leave class. If you have a student refuse to turn in their headphones because they are violating your classrom policy, send the office an email to let them know a student is refusing and we’ll put it in Student Conductor, noting that the student was refusing to follow your classroom expectation. These count as a double violation.

Ramadan
Our Muslim students will begin Ramadan this week. During this time our students may have low energy and may want to avoid the cafeteria during lunchtime. Please be flexible with our students as they practice this important religious observance.
Women’s History Month and Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month
Women's History Month
March is Women’s History Month and a celebration of women’s contributions to history, culture and society and has been observed annually in the month of March in the United States since1987.
The National Women’s History Alliance designates a yearly theme for Women's History Month.
The 2024 theme celebrates “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.” The theme recognizes women throughout the country who understand that, for a positive future, we need to eliminate bias and discrimination entirely from our lives and institutions. Women from every background have long realized that an uneven playing field will never bring equality or justice. Many feel the critical need to speak up and work harder for fairness in our institutions and social interactions.

Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month
Observed throughout March, Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month is an opportunity to promote respect for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and to raise awareness about the inclusion of people with developmental disabilities in all facets of community life, as well as awareness of the barriers that people with disabilities still sometimes face in connecting to the communities in which they live.
“A World of Opportunities” – we’re celebrating people and working together to remove obstacles. The goal is to build a community that’s committed to creating a world where everyone can do well and succeed. Help in making a world where all kinds of people have the chance to thrive.
