The Hero Focus

Heritage Staff Newsletter - March 27, 2017

Dear Heritage Heroes,

I hope you all had a great weekend! Last week was a pretty good "re-entry" week (thanks Beth Hoseney for the term). Even though getting back into the swing of things begins with lots of energy, by mid-week we can begin to get a little tired. I wanted to thank you for pushing through, being here for the students, and making sure each and every day was your best!

This week's newsletter includes a great article on math instruction - be sure to also view the 1 minute video. It provides some ideas to think about as you look at your own instruction. Keep in mind that daily number talks, problem solving, review, and new learning is essential to building great math minds. During that new learning - conceptual understanding is crucial to learning at a deeper level and provides students better opportunities to apply and hold on to that learning.

Thanks for your commitment to continual improvement and most importantly to our Heritage Heroes.

Have a great week!

Be in the Know! Legislative Updates!

The district has created a Legislative Update section on their website. Click on the link below:

You can click on each heading and it will give you a list of the priorities in that area. As bills start moving the district will include information about specific bills (for example, a little about SB3 can be found under the school finance header).
