Testing April 20 - 29

Students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade will be taking the Georgia Milestones Test April 20 - 29. Please help our school by sending your child to school on time so that students are not tardy. Also, our specials schedule will change to a morning time slot during testing. Our lunch time will remain the same. Thank you!

Recital Day in Music

Just a reminder that next Tuesday is our class recital day in music! Your child had a chance to sign up to perform this week, if he/she chose to do so. If your child needs a special song for recital day, please make sure he/she is prepared and brings in the cd. If you have any specific questions, contact: marialyce_orr@gwinnett.k12.ga.us

Spring Carnival

Spring carnival is Friday, May 1, from 4 - 7 p.m. This is a FUN event! There will be games, a dunk tank to dunk teachers, a Kona Ice truck, a game truck, hamster balls, and lots of yummy food!

You can also bid on the different baskets in the silent auction.
Put this event on your calendar - you won't want to miss it!

End of Year Testing in Kindergarten

Kindergarten teachers are beginning to collect end of year data. Students will be assessed in reading, writing, and math. Therefore, there will be some days where reading groups are not held. If your child doesn't come home with a book, please continue nightly reading by reading library books or books from home. Thank you!

ABC Countdown!

We are having so much fun with our ABC countdown!

There are a few days where we would love some help. Please send a note in your child's folder or email if you can send something in.


Ice Cream Day on 4/28: We have everything we need! Thanks, Mrs. Chapman, for doing our ice cream sundaes in honor of Case's birthday!

Lollipop Day on 5/1: Konner's mom is sending in our lollipops! Thank you!

Watermelon Day on 5/18: We would love some watermelon!

What's coming up next week:

Students will be learning all about farms next week! Reading writing, and science will consist of reading fiction and nonfiction texts about farms, farmers, and farm animals. Students will be responding to literature and writing informational pieces about farm animals.


In word work, we will be learning the new words: run, could, give



In math, we will be collecting data and graphing it!
