COVID-19 Staff Update
Ozark Schools closed through April 3
As you know, things are changing rapidly. Here are a few updates.
Our feeding and childcare programs are underway. Thank you to everyone who is working and to those who volunteered. We have had a great response. It is our honor to serve those who are helping others. In the past two days, we have given out over 800 meals. We will continue this program.
I know you have a lot of questions. We are working on getting them answered. We will continue to update the website and send notifications out when necessary.
Thank you for your patience. Please continue to watch out for each other, check on each other, and stay safe.
Our benefits enrollment will now be virtual!

Update from Dr. Carson
I want to clear up some confusion regarding alternative assignments for students while they are on break. We are still treating our break the same as last week - an extended break. Since we are on break and will resume school on April 6, we are not sending alternative assignments to students. Just like a snow day, you would not send work home for students to do.
If you have not clicked on the school website, please go and see the information that the communications department has been updating. They are doing a stellar job trying to keep everyone caught up with the current news. Participate in the fun spirit week activities!
The admin team will meet on Wednesday to prepare our work for the next week. For now, please start thinking through your calendar and decide how it needs to change in relationship to our extended break. Your principals will communicate with you at the end of the week regarding March 27 - April 3 details.
Thank you to each person who is serving by feeding students and childcare. You are a huge blessing to our community with every loving deed you perform.
Stay safe and take care of yourself. It is equally important for you to be well. If you have specific needs, please reach out to your immediate supervisor.
Key cards to buildings have been deactivated for those not working
In accordance with social distancing recommendations, here are the guidelines for accessing our buildings through April 3.
Through March 26, all our buildings are closed except to essential operations.
- If you are reporting to work at that location, you may access the building once you have gone through the correct check-in procedures.
- Gyms and weight rooms are closed for students and staff to workout.
- Classrooms are not open for teachers to visit or work in their rooms at this time.
- No outside visitors, other than childcare participants, are allowed in our buildings during this time.
Effective March 27 - April 3 when certified staff contracts are back in effect, certified staff may access their rooms/offices to grab essential items only during normal working hours. Work through your building administrators before you visit the building.
- Classrooms are not open for teachers to work in.
- No outside visitors are allowed in our buildings during this time, this includes family members.
Limiting building access allows our custodial staff to focus on essential areas for cleaning. We are taking every precaution available to ensure a healthy environment for our staff and children attending childcare. Thank you for helping us with these precautions.
For COVID-19 Symptoms
CoxHealth began offering free Virtual Visits to people in southwest Missouri experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 (coronavirus) on Monday, March 16.
To be evaluated, individuals should simply use code COVID when beginning a Virtual Visit. This service is available to anyone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, which include a fever, cough, and respiratory distress. Patients at risk may also have traveled to areas with widespread disease. If a provider feels a patient should be tested, he or she will make a referral so that may be conducted.
The availability of Virtual Visits by anyone, regardless of insurance or ability to pay, aligns with public health goals of keeping the disease from spreading throughout the community. This approach also prevents the spread of illness in medical facilities, and protects the local health care workforce so they can be ready to help those who need assistance.
To start a Virtual Visit, click here. Download the CoxHealthNow app for even quicker access to Virtual Visits.
