Curriculum Update
ELA- Next week: Please note that all students will need a 3 prong folder Monday, April 25th, for their enrichment autobiography project. This is a culminating activity from our class read aloud, Out of My Mind. The majority of the project will be completed in class, however, students are encouraged to add to the project (ex.copies of photographs) to make it a keepsake from 5th grade. We will also be reviewing parts of speech with the daily grade to be given Friday, April 29th. A unit on cursive handwriting will begin after the grammar review. The remainder of the ELA grades are as follows:
Atomic Bomb Paired Passage DG-May 4th
Cold Read Test- May 11th
Writing-
Writing to an Opinion Test-May 2nd
Word Study-
Homographs Test-May 13th
From Dr. Shaw:
We have two more Milestones tests to take. Monday is the science test and Wednesday is the social studies test. I have Google Slides presentations on my Google Drive account that review all the science and social studies content for the year. There is one science and one social studies presentation and I highly encourage the students to use each to review one more time (at least) before the tests. Content vocabulary is also on the Quizlet page.
Math-There is no formal math class Monday - Wednesday. We will pick back up on Thursday with fractions and review for a daily grade the following week.
Social Studies-In social studies, the study guides for chapters 10 and lesson one for chapter 12 are due on Tuesday. They were handed out on the 19th. The test is on Thursday, the 28th.
Science-In science, the study guide for our electricity and magnetism unit is due on Wednesday. It was handed out on the 20th. The test is Friday, the 29th.
