A Note about the Elementary School Transition
Dear Paine Elementary Parents,
Happy New Year! We trust that everyone had a restful break and enjoyed some quality time with your children. As we move into the second half of the school year, we want to share some transition news from Dr. Neill. Over the next several months, the three elementary principals will be rotating positions within the buildings for six week increments. This will allow all faculty, staff, parents and students to become more familiar with the members of our administrative team as we move closer toward the opening of our new schools. This schedule will also enable the principals to view each of our teachers working with students as we reacquaint ourselves with a K-5 environment.
Below is the the “Elementary Principal Transition Plan” :
Paine K-2 Office
Dr. Evans (Jan.11-Feb 19)
Dr. Jeter (Feb. 22-Mar. 25)
Paine 3-5 Office
Mrs. Schmitt (Jan. 11-Feb. 19)
Dr. Evans (Feb. 22-Mar. 25)
Floating Principal (Working between both schools)
Dr. Jeter (Jan. 11-Feb. 19)
Mrs. Schmitt (Feb. 22-Mar. 25)
Our first priority is to ensure that our students continue to receive excellent services and instruction as they do now. We are fortunate in Trussville City Schools that our faculty and staff work so well with our students. We thank you for trusting us with your children’s safety and education. Please feel free to contact us should you have any questions.

Students and parents can get an update of community events and activities from information on the Community Activity Table. Information that is age appropriate for our students will be available for anyone interested in after-school activities, extra-curricular activities, and community events. Parents and students are encouraged to stop by the Community Activity Table and pick up any information that may interest you. WOW Words
pace, blunder, reassure, excel, cozily
A robust vocabulary increases a child’s comprehension and improves writing skills. With the adoption and implementation of our reading series, students in each grade level will focus on specific vocabulary words each week that relate directly to stories read in class. The office also will be reading these words during announcements each morning. These words should become part of your child’s natural conversation. Please help your child use these words by making them a part of your talk time.
