Communication
The people of Akkad spoke a semitic language, much like that of the Amorites. Another form of communication would be the written cuneiform.
Literature
Together, with Sumerian and Egyptian literature, the Mesopotamia literature in general forms the oldest known literature in the world. The people of Mesopotamia, including that of the Akkadians, used a form of literature known as cuneiform, which was a type of writing which was recorded on stone tablets from ancient Mesopotamia. Using this form of literature, Enheduanna wrote hymns to the moon god Nanna, as she was the high priest for this specific god. She is is the first author we know by name in all of history.
