Principal Lunde's Weekly Update

Nov. 9, 2020

Every day I get the opportunity to chat with parents, visit with students, and talk with the UELF staff. I seek each of those moments as times to listen, collaborate, and connect. I trust each of you and I know that each of you want the best for the students of UELF. Each of those UELF stakeholders is hungry for our community to work together and sometimes in this process we have feelings of connection, loneliness, excitement, frustration, energy, exhaustion, and always this feeling of limbo or uncertainty. Presently CRPUSD is working with all of these stakeholders to develop the best plan for our return to school.

While Sonoma County continues to be in purple, our district can only plan for when we anticipate to return. As I hear updates, I will share these updates in this newsletter and in my Weekly Family Check-Ins. I need my teachers, support staff, families, and students to focus on the incredible learning that our students are doing right now. There is momentum so let's continue this great work.

Friday, Nov. 13, 2020, is Kindness Day. CRPUSD is celebrating this day by having special read alouds and activities for all preschool - 5th grade students to participate in. Your student will begin their day like normal, checking in with their morning meeting, then the links to the activities will be on the students' googleclassroom/seesaw for the day. The Supply Bag had a paper packet of the activities. EVERY student will need to attend the morning, complete the GoogleForm, and select the Kindness Sign or 4-Quardrants to complete. Please send photos of kindness acts to kindness@crpusd.org. Teachers will be completing final assessments and check-ins with students as needed.
