Community Service Opportunity!!
Hello WMS!
We are excited to announce an upcoming opportunity for service to our Windsor Middle School community.
Campus Beautification Event!
On Saturday, April 15th, from 10 a.m. to Noon we will be hosting a trash clean-up/campus beautification project. Our aim will be to clean up around the WMS building, our football field, the district office, and in front of the Windsor High School building. Students are encouraged to sign up and even bring a parent.
Trash pick-up materials (bags, buckets, etc.) will be provided but students are responsible for bringing their own gloves. Parents will need to provide transportation to and from WMS that day.
For interested students, please fill out the form (linked below) with a parent. Any students who participate will be able to count these hours for their Wizard Way service hours sheet. Mr. Sonnenberg will be able to sign off for your participation. The week of this event, students and parents will receive an email from Mr. Sonnenberg with further information for that Saturday’s event.
If you have any questions regarding this service opportunity, please contact Mr. Sonnenberg at jordan.sonnenberg@weldre4.org.
To sign up for this event, please fill out this form!
CMAS Testing
The Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) assessment is coming up! This assessment is given to all 3rd through 11th graders in the state of Colorado. CMAS measures the achievement and growth surrounding the Colorado Academic Standards. We utilize the results to identify trends in student learning in order to inform our professional practices. This year, our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will be taking the Mathematics and English Language Arts assessments on April 11th, 12th, and 13th. Our 8th graders will be taking the Science Assessment during the same time.

Volunteer Coaching Information
There are a few steps to volunteering as a Coach at WMS. The first step is to speak with the Head Coach of the sport you want to participate in. When that coach approves you, he or she will send a note to Mr. Cox, our Athletic Director, informing him of the potential volunteer, and that the coach has met the potential volunteer and has a plan for that volunteer to help our program. The potential volunteer will then need to come see Mr. Cox to get a Volunteer Coaching form. You will need that form in order to complete an application to volunteer on our RAPTOR system. Once you have the form, go to RAPTOR and fill out the volunteer application. When you are approved, you will be in the system and are then able to work with our athletes.
Please call Mr. Cox if you have any questions, or need help working through the process, at (970) 686-8219
