Where is this sneaky bacteria?
This bacteria can be on beef, different poultry, unpasteurized milk, eggs, and vegetables but that is very, very uncommon. Remember can not see or smell this sneaky bacteria!
How do people get infected with this?
You can get infected with salmonella by eating uncooked meat, uncooked poultry, raw eggs, unpasteurized milk, and anything possibly contaminated with the juices of raw meat. You can also get the bacteria from cooked meat but cooking the product gives you less of a chance.
Do you really want to be sick?
Do you want diarrhea? Do you want abdominal cramps? Do you want a fever? I don't think so. This is what salmonella will do to you. Approximately 42,000 cases of salmonellosis are reported in the United States every year. The estimated number of actual cases, though, is much higher, at about 1.2 million. Do you want to be one of these people? These symptoms last 48-72 hours on average, so be careful!
Outsmart them!
Lets outsmart those little sneakers! Here is the plan: Wash your dishes anytime they have came it contact with raw meats or poultry, also do not but cooked meat such like hamburgers back on the plate which held the raw meat. Also don't eat cookie dough, I know it is tempting, but it contains raw eggs.
How to prevent FBI's
- Keep cold foods cold and hot food hot
- Cook meat at the correct temperature
- Don't eat raw or improperly cooked foods
- Don't let food set on the counter for more than two hours
- Marinate food in the fride
