Mistletoe & Starlight Holiday Concert

Transport to the classic holidays of your childhood when entertainers like Bing Crosby and Dean Martin brought warmth and glow to the season. Tony Starlight brings back these timeless holiday traditions with a fresh comedic spin at the Mistletoe and Starlight Concert on Saturday, December 15 at 2:00 p .m. Starlight has joined forces with Bo Ayars (arranger and conductor for Liberace) to put together a Vegas-style Christmas program like none other. The show includes swinging jazz, comedy routines, impressions, and more. Both silly and sweet, Mistletoe and Starlight is full of joy and cheer.

Featured performers include LOHS and LHS show choirs, LOHS Windjammers, and LHS Company.

Concert proceeds benefit the Lake Oswego Adult Community Center. Concert takes place in the Lake Oswego High School Auditorium.

To purchase a general admission ticket, visit www.lakeoswego.city/holidayconcert or call 503.675.2549.

Elementary Strings Move from Uplands to Forest Hills – Jan. 7

The Elementary Strings program will begin the new year in their new location – Forest Hills Elementary School! We are excited to partner with Forest Hills and are working with them to ensure that the same accommodations for the program are available at the new campus. The buses to Elementary Strings and after to Extended Day care locations will remain unchanged. This move is one of the final steps needed to begin the Uplands Elementary bond project work that is slated to begin in January. All equipment will be moved from Uplands to Forest Hills over the winter break, so students will come back to the first week of classes being held in their new location.

Online Registration Coming Next Month!

The District has developed an online registration system that will replace the current paper-based system. We are excited to steamline this process for parents to provide student information to our schools. Online registration for the 2019-20 school year will begin the week of January 21, 2019, for new students who have never enrolled in the District before. Be on the lookout for updates in The Current and the District's website.

ParentVUE for Elementary School Parents

To prepare for the switch to online registration, the District will launch the ParentVUE portal for our elementary parents in early January 2019. This portal allows parents of elementary students to view attendance data and state assessment scores, and will, in the future, allow parents to register new students or verify information for enrolled students.

Parents of elementary students who do not already have an active ParentVUE account will soon receive a letter with an Activation Key and instructions on how to set up their ParentVUE account. Please contact your child's elementary school with questions.

Kindergarten Counts – January 23

Lake Oswego School District's Kindergarten Counts will take place Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. at all elementary schools. This event introduces Lake Oswego parents to the full-day kindergarten program and Extended Day program and ensures that new families are connected to their school. All families with a child who will be five years old by September 1, 2019, are encouraged to attend.

This year Kindergarten Counts will coincide with the debut of the District’s new online registration portal. Rather than providing a paper registration form that night, parents will learn about online registration so that they can later enroll their children from home or wherever they access the internet (no registration via smartphone).

Weather Emergency Communications

As we edge closer to winter, please review the emergency communications page of our district website which can be found here. The District has a new Twitter account which will be used for emergency communications. Please follow @LOSD_Proud for the fastest way to receive all urgent notifications.
