Mary's Bucket List
April 2014
#1 - Point Lobos, California
I would love to go scuba diving at Point Lobos in Carmel, California. This bay has undergone physical weathering due to waves crashing against the shore. These waves act as a powerful force of erosion.
#2 - Grand Canyon, Arizona
I think it would be nice to see the Grand Canyon from a hot air balloon. This canyon has been eroded by water, ice, and strong winds, undergoing physical weathering.
#3 - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
I think that Rio de Janeiro has a very interesting landscape, and would love to go hang gliding there. Physical weathering has formed the beautiful mountains that loom over the ocean.
#4 - Tuolumne River in Yosemite National Park, California
I have always wanted to go whitewater rafting, and I think the Tuolumne River would be a beautiful place to do it. The shore of the river has been physically weathered by running water, a force of erosion, to give it a rocky shoreline.
#5 - Long Range Traverse, Newfoundland, Canada
If I were to go hiking, I would do it here, in the Long Range Traverse. The cliffs surrounding this bright blue river have undergone physical weathering from wind and gravity, two important forces of erosion.
