Principal's Blog

Dear Kincaid Families,

We made it through our first week of online learning and zooming with our students. We had some bumps in the road but overall we had excellent participation during classroom meetings. These zoom meeting opportunities are meant to be a chance for teachers to explain the learning platforms and for students to connect with one another and with our Kincaid staff. We appreciate your willingness to help us keep our home/school connections strong.

Teachers completed personal phone calls to every home during our first week of school closures. Families who identified a hardship with online learning should receive print materials in the mail this week. If you do not receive a packet of print materials and expected one, please contact your child's teacher. We will do our best to get the resources into the hands of our students.

We understand that parents do not want students on a computer screen too much during the day. We encourage time away from the screen as often as you can. I have visited most our our Kincaid digital classrooms and have seen suggested resources that are not related to screen time. If you are struggling with non screen activities, please communicate with your child's teacher.

Some students left things behind at school that are very important to them. I have received request to pick up music instruments, shoes, snow gear, and other personal items. At this time staff are not allowed back into the building. We are following state and city orders to hunker down. As soon as we are able, we will send a message to you to schedule an appointment for a pick-up.

Ms. Michaela has transferred the phone line to her house during the work day. You may call between 9:00 am and 3:30 pm. If Ms. Michaela is on the phone and you leave a voice message, Ms. Kelly will be checking the messages. The voice messages are sent directly to her email where she is able to listen to the message. We want you to know that we are still here, although not in the building. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Mrs. Zorea's Zoom Meetings

Zoom Meetings with the principal are every Monday and Friday at 2:00 pm.

This Monday at 2:00. please join Mrs. Zorea and her guest, Nick Constantino, Firefighter from Station 12. Mr. Constantino will be sharing with us how first responders are responding during these difficult times. These principal/parent/student meetings are also a time you can ask questions or just stop in to say hello.

To keep our ZOOM meetings safe from unwanted, disruptive intruders, we cannot post our links on pubic pages.
