Immersion Education – Teaching academic content in another language

Hello Fronteras Families!

Each quarter, Fronteras offers upwards of 20 After School Enrichment classes/clubs. These clubs are led by parent and Fronteras staff volunteers. If your child has attended or currently attends an after school class, please find time to thank the club leader. These folks are giving their time to educate, engage with, and inspire your children.

We Need Your Ideas! With the end of the school year quickly closing in, and everyone’s responsibilities and calendars filling up, we are looking to lighten everyone’s load. Therefore, we would like suggestions for alternative ways to showcase our students’ musical talents this spring. Please think as creatively as possible and share your ideas with your child’s teacher via email. The more awesome ideas, the better!

Please join us for the first Field Day meeting with Mr. Neilson at 2:45 on Monday the 23rd. We need your fun ideas! See you in Portable 1!

It was a fantastic week with your kiddos! Have a wonderful weekend!

Most Sincerely,

Mrs. Hutchins

Yearbook Deadline!

It is close to the end of the year and that means Yearbook orders are due!

The transition to a new yearbook vendor has not been an easy one, but we’ll get through this!! Online ordering is closed, but this year we have the option to order some extra books, that will be on sale in SchoolCash Online. There will be 60 books available for $20/ea. on a First Come First Served basis. If you still are not able to get a book, please let us know, so we can assist you in getting one ordered. If you started an order, for your yearbook, on the TreeRing website, but did not complete the payment section…your book is not ordered. You will need to purchase your yearbook(s) through SchoolCash online.

*Please note that these books will not have the option to customize*

Fronteras Academic Policy Committee (APC) 2018 Board Elections!

Our Academic Policy Committee board elections will take place at the end of April. There are currently two open staff seats and two open parent seats. Ballots were sent home with your student on April 18, 2018. Voting closes at 3pm on April 24, 2018.

Please contact Solveig Eidsness if you have any questions.

Need. More. Food.

There has been an influx of students eating their entire lunch at snack time. To keep up with these growing kiddos, we ask that parents please pack a little extra in their lunches.

Field Day!

It's time to start planning for the last day of school aka FIELD DAY! The first field day meeting will be held on April 23rd at 2:45pm in Portable 1! This is also another great opportunity to get those volunteer hours in!

Did You Know?

The name Uruguay comes from the Uruguay River which means ‘river of the painted birds’ in the Guarani language. The river starts in Brazil and ends in the Rio de la Plata Basin which forms the water border between Uruguay and Argentina.
