INCOME DECLARATION FORM

If you have not done so yet, please complete the Income Declaration Form that was sent home with report cards last week. We need a completed form for each student at Big Lake Elementary. If you need another form, we have them at the school office. This helps determine how much money our school will get in Federal Title funds next school year. These funds pay for our school counselor, tutor advisors, our AR program (Accelerated Reader), parent engagement activities (movie night, math night, etc.),and much more. Thank you in advance for completing this.

DRESS FOR RECESS

The arctic temperatures are here plus lots of snow. Please make sure your student is dressed for outdoor recess and for waiting at the bus stop. Outdoor recess happens until -10 degrees. We want students to be warm when they go outside for 30 minutes of recess and should wear a coat, snow pants, hat, gloves and boots. If they wear snow boots to school, they should have shoes to change into during class time and for gym class.

If you need help with winter gear, please contact Nurse Lund at 892-9700.

MEDICATION/COUGH DROPS AT SCHOOL

All medications, prescriptions or over the counter, are kept locked in the nurse’s office. Cough drops and Tylenol are considered an over-the-counter medication. As a reminder, medications must be transported and delivered by the parent or adult representative to the nurse’s office. Students should not be transporting any medication to and from school and this includes cough drops. Please do not send cough drops to school with your student. Kids will share them like candy and we have to be careful with allergies etc.
