Massacusetts
Established in 1630 it was a combination of the Massachusetts bay colony and the Plymouth rock colony. With a population of about 20,000 mainly puritans the economy was based on fishing whaling and ship building.
Rhode Island
Founded in 1636 by Rodger Williams and Anne Hutchinson to escape puritan beliefs. With a population of about 2,000 of mixed religious beliefs the economy was based on fishing, whaling, and shipbuilding.
Conneticut
Founded by Thomas Hooker in 1636. The population of about 8,000 of mainly puritan beliefs there was no religious freedom. The economy was based on shipbuilding and the export of rum.
New Hampsire
Founded in 1638 by John Mason and John Wheelwright. With a population of about 2,000 of mainly puritans. The economy was based on whaling, fishing, and shipbuilding. Whale Oil was a valuable resource at the time, it could be used in lamps.
