Firebird Flash

Proud to Be Your Principal
What a week! I can hardly believe we have only three weeks left of school! It's been a fantastic week of learning and exploring, with several field trips and a lot of excitement. We've pretty much finished up all our Forward state testing, which is terrific (and a relief to the students, I think!)
Parents, please take note of what you can expect in our schools in the 2016-2016 school year. Last week's Flash started out with a lengthy explanation of what you can look forward to, and if you missed it, you can read more further down in this edition. Middle school parents, we definitely want you to be aware that registration for your students begins next week - read below, and please call us if you have any questions!
My family is really looking forward to tomorrow's Color Run - let's hope for some decent weather, and I'll see you all there!
Proud to be your principal,
Brent Johnson

"Counseling Corner"
Do you always lose Fruit Ninja or Words with Friends to your teen?
Teens were born into a digital world so they have the upper hand in being comfortable using technology but they don’t always know how to control their frustration or gloating when they lose or win a game. Teach coping skills and emotional control as you play with your teen.
