Tisch's Tidbits

Thank you to the parents willing to help in the classroom next week! I am still in need of 3-4 more parents to help Monday morning at 10:30 for about an hour or so. Please let me know if you if would be willing to help. There is quite a bit of sewing involved for the kids along with threading needles and hot gluing so a few extra hands would help make the process go a bit faster. Thank you in advance!

Chaucie's Place

Union Elementary is partnering again this year with Chaucie’s Place, a child advocacy organization in Hamilton County, to bring Smart Steps: A Body Safety Program for Children™ to our Kindergarten, 2nd and 4th grade students. Smart Steps is a child sexual abuse prevention and education program that empowers your child to say “NO!” to any unwanted touches that make them uncomfortable from anyone. This slip came home last Thursday.

Save the Date

Union Elementary Night out with the Indiana Pacers. will be held on Saturday, January 2nd, 2016. More details are coming soon!

Union Express

Union Express is up and running. Remember, your mail will not be delivered without the proper address and stamp. If you need to print a stamp from home they can be found on the PTO link under Union Express as well as the full addresses.

Book Reports

These lovely projects have been on display in our library. Mrs. Jensen would like for them to be taken home by next Tuesday. Your child may take it home or an adult may come pick it up during school hours.

In addition, per the request of the students, I have created a more detailed rubric for the November book report. Nothing has really been added, rather it just breaks down the points a bit more, especially for the choice activity. This is the rubric that should be returned with the project due on November 30.

Feed a Friend Food Drive

This food drive will take place from November 18-23. Please take a look at the 1/2 orange sheet that will come home tomorrow for items that are accepted by the Zionsville Food Pantry. Canned items and non-perishable items are perfect! Items may be turned into the Cafe from 8:50-9:10 each morning.

Have a great week. :)
