AAAANNND, WE'RE BACK!
We hope everyone had a wonderful spring break, a Happy Easter, Happy Passover, Happy Holi, and that you took some much-deserved time to relax, de-stress, and take some time to do the things that you enjoy. As we return from our break and head into marking period 4 and the final stretch of this year, we want to remind you of some things that can help make you as successful as possible:
- check your grades in the student portal at least twice a week
- if you haven't had Health yet this year, you should have it for the 4th marking period- check your schedule to make sure, and find out what time your Health class is on Wednesdays in the schedule link below!
- make sure you complete ALL assignments each day that they are due- students lose the most points and see their grades suffer most from missing and late assignments... make your goal to see no '0' or MIS in your grade book for the marking period!
- check in with your teachers through email or office hours if you don't understand something in class
- office hours will now be on Wednesdays, for a longer period of time... take advantage of this!
- set a goal and a game plan for marking period 4 to end the year strong... not sure how to do that? email your counselor to schedule a Google Meet, we'd be happy to work on a strategy with you!
- make sure you read your emails from teachers.. many of them are giving you opportunities to complete assignments, make corrections, or see them for extra help and you are missing these opportunities if you're not reading your email!

How to Send a Proper Email
Now, more than ever, students are needing to write emails to teachers, when this hasn't been a necessity in the past. Check out this great tool below that helps you write a proper email, so that you make sure to get your full point across while also being polite and professional!
THREE MONTHS OF GIVING: APRIL
'Students Supporting Seniors'
Don't forget, April is our month to support our local Jefferson Township Seniors (and we're not talking about the high school kind!) If you are willing and able, please bring in games, puzzles, crafts, books, magazines, blank greeting cards, and puzzles/ sudoku books, which will be donated to the local senior services in town. Collection boxes are at the cafeteria and blue pass entrances!
Essentials With Miss Ellingsen
Bring It Down
As humans, we sometimes have days that can feel overwhelming. Maybe we feel overwhelmed by emotions, school, work, relationships, or stress. The important thing is to know how to cope with these feelings so that we can deal with them in healthy ways. I’ve mentioned mindfulness many times before and will continue mentioning it because practicing mindfulness can be so helpful and mindfulness activities can add to our coping skills toolboxes. Today’s mindfulness activity shows us how to gain control of our stressful energy when it becomes too hard to handle.
