WINTER COMPETITIONS RETURN
Headed to Greenwood High School for their first performance of the season, The NPHS Cadet Winter Guard received a "tunnel" send off by the Varsity members.
On January 29th, both units took to the competition floor for the first time in 2022.
The Cadet performed their show "How Far I'll Go" and earned a Silver rating in their class. The Varsity performed their show "Favorite Crime" and earned a third place finish in their class.
Both are fanTAStic starts to the season!
Audio Theater, New Palestine HS's Indoor Percussion, will head to Franklin Central HS on 2/12 to start their 2022 campaign.
"Into The Void" is the show title this year. Looking forward to seeing their journey in the coming weeks/months! I can say this, thought... The show shirt looks awesome!

WINTER ACTIVITES - PARENTS
As is the case with all the performing arts activities, we rely heavily on parents. Each activity has it's own very specific needs. Each weekly competition requires about a dozen parents/adult volunteers to help get done what it takes to keep our groups operating at a high level.
We need help pulling trailers.. chaperones for bus and school monitoring.. loading/unloading props and gear.. pushing props to staging areas.. meal organizers.. Then we get to repeat everything next weekend.
Yes, it's a lot of work, but the VIP access to the inner workings of these activities - knowing what your efforts mean to our kiddos and the programs - and to see the looks on our kids faces after a great performance - it's well worth it.
You're (hopefully) already attending the shows. Please consider stepping up to help the cause a few times this season. If you have any questions, please reach out to your activity instructors. Thanks!

BUTTER BRAIDS - IT's TIME!!
This fundraiser kicked off on Feb 1. Be sure to ask your student for the form, and secure your delicious baked goodness right away!
Orders need to be turned into the band box no later than Tuesday, Feb 15th.
Please plan to pick up your order on Thursday March 3rd.
These arrive frozen, and must stay frozen, so arranging for your pickup on the 3rd is a MUST, as we don't have a huge freezer to store them.
Reminders about the 3/3 pickup, as well as pickup time and location will be communicated as we get closer to 3/3.
Please contact Jordan if you have any questions.
Thank you for participating in this tasty fundraiser!

BAND BOOSTER ELECTIONS ARE COMING
Elections for the NPHS Band Booster Board takes place in the spring.
As is the case every year - each seat on the board will be voted on, and awarded to the person that receives the most votes.
Band Booster seats and an uber-brief summary:
President - leads meetings and keeps the direction of the program on track
Vice-President - supports the Prez where needed
Secretary - records the official minutes for board meetings
Treasurer - counts all (ALL!) the beans ;)
Student Accounts Coordinator - tracks & collects student dues
Concessions Coordinator - makes sure our responsibilities for concessions are handled
Sponsorship Coordinator - manages our awesome sponsors and looks for new ones
Community Liaison - manages emails, social media, and the band website
The Board meets once a month to be sure all is well in the land of our portion of the NPHS Performing Arts. If you'd like to take the next step in pointing the direction of our program, please consider running for a seat.
Stay tuned for more information & thank you for your interest!

CONCESSIONS HELP
Concessions have been doing very well this year.
We still have a few dates in February that are in need of volunteers. If you have yet to work, please look your schedules and see when you can help.
Even though these concessions are during sports events, the profits from these events goes straight into the Performing Arts Department. We really do need fully staffed events in order to maximize the potential.
Again - We provide wrapped candy, bottled soda, pretzels, nachos, hot dogs and other odds and ends. These are simple shifts - but there are several shifts to fill.
Each shift worked earns $10 towards your student account!
