Scholastic Book Fair
The book fair is coming to the La Mesa Library in just one week. There are so many great books and stories. Make sure to check out the upcoming titles by visiting school fair page or view the online flyer and book trailer videos.
Student shopping will be available March 21-25 before school, during brunch, and during lunch. Parents are welcome to shop online through our book fair page. To donate to our classroom or school libraries, please donate to our school ewallet. Funds donated will be used to fulfill student and teacher wishlists.
The average book costs about $8. All donations received by Wednesday, March 23 will be passed on to student shoppers. Any donations received after March 23 will be used to help build classroom libraries. Thank you in advance for your support!
LCAP Input for Parents

Golden Valley Class Registration THIS Week
Golden Valley Counselors Visit La Mesa
Our 8th graders had the opportunity to visit Golden Valley High School last Thursday to see what high school has to offer. This week, 8th graders will be able to talk to their high school counselors about what they are interested in from sports to career pathways. Talk to your incoming 9th grader about their interests to help them better vocalize their wants and needs to their counselors.
End of the Year 8th Grade Events
Many of our 8th grade parents have asked about 8th Grade Promotion. The Hart District Junior Highs, including La Mesa, have not held 8th Grade Promotions for the past 10+ years. We do have our annual 8th Grade Awards ceremony where we recognize students for academic, character, and leadership. Unfortunately, not all students earn awards. Special invitations are sent home. We are working now on all of our 8th grade activities that also include a dance. More information to come!
SCV SHERIFF’S ALL SCHOOLS DANCE – MARCH 25TH
The Santa Clarita Sheriff Department is holding their 37th annual All Schools Dance at Magic Mountain on Friday, March 25th from 7:30pm – 11:30pm. This dance will have a DJ, Light Show, and unlimited rides. It is open to 8th – 12th grade SCV students only. The cost is $20 and students must have their current student ID to enter. No backpacks are allowed and hats are discouraged.
