What is Venezuela?
Venezuela is a country on the northern coast of South America. Venezuela is considered a state with extremely high biodiversity, with habitats ranging from the Andes Mountains in the west to the Amazon Basin rainforest in the south, via extensive Llanos plains and Caribbean coast in the center and the Orinoco River Delta in the east.

The Angel Falls
A waterfall which drops from a table top mountain of over 1000 meters.
Los Roques
The string of coral islands is home to a wide variety of bird and sea life and is located 170km (106 miles) north of Caracas.
The Sand dunes
The dunes, which can reach 40 meters (130 feet) in height, are the habitat of cactus and a small number of animals such as lizards and foxes.
Orinoco Delta
The longest river in Venezuela reaches the Atlantic Ocean at the eastern tip of the country and split into numerous smaller rivers or distributaries at the Orinoco Delta.
Siera Nevada
It is also where visitors set off to ride the world’s highest cable car which ascends 4,776 meters (15,700 feet) to Pico Espejo. During these hikes visitors can enjoy the stunning scenery of lakes and snow-capped peaks including Pico Bolivar, the county’s highest at 4981 meters (16,300 feet).
Waraira Repano (Avila)
Visitors can either hike up one of the three trails, take the cable car, or a 4WD to the sealed up Hotel Humboldt at the summit. There you get an amazing view of the city and the air is refreshingly cooler than it is in the capital.
