3rd Grade
Newsletter for February 8, 2018
From the teacher's pen
Next week's 5-day forecast looks like 1 day of anticipation, 1 day of solid fun, 1 day of calm and reflection, and finishing up with 2 days of regular school "stuff." Read below for details.
Valentines Day & Mardi Gras On the Same Day
We are combining both crazy fun activities into one day. The 3rd graders will finish delivering their Valentines on Monday, enjoy special Valentine treats and watch a movie on Tuesday at lunch, then begin the Mardi Gras activities after lunch recess.
Ash Wednesday
At the 9 am Mass, everyone in the church will receive ashes on their foreheads to begin the season of Lent. I am encouraging all 3rd graders to not eat meat in their lunches on Ash Wednesday and all Fridays during Lent.
Other Business
- It's time to think about Pioneer Farm. Six parents will be able to spend the day with us at the farm. If you are interested, please send me a note and update all your clearances. Our trip is on Wednesday, May 9th.
- The 3rd Graders are now learning the Maypole dance. They will perform this dance on May 4th after the May Crowning Mass. This is a special event for the 3rd grade class and you may wish to invite those important people in their lives to this event.
