Parents,

Winter Break has finally arrived! Please take the time to rest, recharge, and make memories with your family. Your students have worked hard this semester. I have quickly learned that Alcova is a special place with staff dedicated to their students. I hope that each of you enjoys the holiday season and the opportunities that this time of year provides for us to join with family and friends.

I want to say a special thank you to our PTA for organizing and hosting our Santa Shop this week. The PTA board members worked hours this week, including late Tuesday night, to create an opportunity for students to do private holiday shopping.

On Saturday, December 10th, our student council members attended the Peer Leadership Conference at Meadowcreek High School. The students had the opportunity to listen to speakers, participate in workshops, and reflect on ways they can show leadership as students. Thank you to our counseling team for creating this opportunity for our students.

On Tuesday night, our Drama club students presented a fabulous 21st Century Christmas Carol performance. It was evident the students had dedicated hours to make the production successful. Thank you, Ms. Taylor, for your passion and dedication to our students.

We will see all students back to school on Thursday, January 5th, 2022.

Please remember school hours are from 8:15am -2:45pm. Students may enter at 7:45am and car riders will begin dismissal at 2:40pm. Starting this year, announcements will begin 8:10am, so that instruction may begin promptly at 8:15am. Thanks in advance for getting your children here on time ready to learn.

Each day we strive to dismiss students with a safe organized process to ultimately ensure the safety of each student. In order to keep our procedures accurate and maintain appropriate processes to ensure the safe release of our students, all check outs in the front office must be completed before 2:15pm and all transportation changes must be made in writing with the front office by the parent by 1:00pm. Thank you for helping us keep our students safe.

Just a Reminder: The Car Rider Lane will close at 8:15 am. All students arriving after 8:15, must check in at the front office with the parent. Please do not drop your child off if the doors are closed.
