The World is Our Family

Hello CIS Families!

Welcome to the month of March!

Comets are on the Rise!

The teachers and students are rising to the challenge of keeping the end in mind as they prepare for the last part of this school year. This is a pivotal part in the application stage of skill development that allow students to find success as they move forward in their schooling. Attendance is necessary for success. If your student must be absent, be sure to reach out to the teacher to ensure that important skills are not being missed as well as missing work. I encourage all families to use PowerSchool as a tool to support their students in completing assignments.

End of Year testing begins May 19. Here is the link to end-of-year tests and when they will be administered.

PowerSchool recently had a system upgrade and we have heard from parents that they are receiving a sync error. If you are experiencing difficulty accessing your PowerSchool parent portal, please visit https://carolinainternationalschool.powerschool.com/public/home.html to sign in. Once you have signed in through the browser, please sign out and back into your PowerSchool app. Please email parentportal@ciscomets.com if you continue to have issues logging in.

Be sure to check the Lost and Found for any of your student's missing personal items. Sweatshirts are piling up!

There are many other events happening including prom, another skate night, and jeans days, see below for details. Ask your child's teacher if you have any questions about upcoming events.

As always, if you have any questions let us know.

PTSO

CIS' Parent Teacher Student Organization met on February 27th. Thank you to all who attended the meeting. Our PTSO is a 501 C3 and they function on their own to support our school. This group is looking for a new treasurer. Please contact Mrs. Grafton if you are able to support with this volunteer opportunity.

If you are interested in taking part in the Spring Book Fair, Teacher Appreciation and other end of the year activities, as a member of the PTSO, let your scholar's teacher know so they can connect you with our PTSO leaders.
