A NOTE FROM DR. COFFMAN
With a heavy heart, I write this to all the parents of Burleson Elementary. My family and I are leaving Meadow, and these are my last few days with all your exceptional children. I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support, encouragement, and kindness. I treasure all the relationships made and memories of the beautiful time spent serving your children. Little did I know that when I stepped inside this building and landed in this community, it would be one of the best experiences. You all have been a dream to work with, and I love your children dearly. Their hugs, high fives, and funny stories pick me up on the most challenging days and always make me smile.
It has been a pleasure partnering with you all and all the staff here to ensure our student’s future success! This year and all the years before would not be as successful without the excellent teachers and staff. They go above and beyond to love, teach, and support the children. I am blown away by the dedication of this staff and commitment to educating your children. They are cared for and well taken care of inside these walls of our great school.
Many blessings to all,
Tabitha Coffman

4TH GRADE
Well, we have almost made it! The year is coming to an end. There are several fun things planned for the upcoming week and we've been having fun (after we finished the STAAR test.) 🙂 Please remember, and remind your child, that NO MATTER what the result of the STAAR test is, I have seen some phenomenal growth this year. The test is a reflection of one day. Your child is so much more. I have immensely loved this year and having each and every child. I didn't know how much I needed to be with these kids. Their hugs, pictures, and kind words made every day special for me this year. I will miss them as they grow up and move on, but they will forever have a special place in my heart.
4th grade Math--we have done some fun review activities. We spent one afternoon outside doing "parking lot" math. We counted cars, trucks, suvs, and buses. We made fractions. We ordered fractions. We did multiplication and we just had a lot of fun. We will be having another 'outside' day and we will walk the perimeter of the elementary building and will figure out the area as well.
4th grade Science--We have been having a great time with kindergarten this week helping them make fossils. We partnered with kinder and the 4th graders have been such good leaders! They make me proud. Today, we will 'unmold' our fossils and paint them with cold coffee. 🙂
5th grade Science--We have finally caught up to the others and taken our STAAR test as well. After that, we've done a little fun cumulative review over this year's concepts. We have done some pixel art and today we started a digital escape room. We will finish it in the upcoming days and have some more fun review activities squeezed in between the other fun things the school has planned.
Thank you for sharing your children with me,
Mrs. Brown 🙂
Me enorgullecen. Brown 🙂
I can't believe this year has come to an end! I am so proud of each student and the hard work and dedication they showed this school year. I have extremely high expectations and they exceeded them! They've worked on becoming strong readers and critical thinkers which will help them as they move forward in life. It has been such a joy getting to witness these kiddos grow into their unique personalities and mature as they year progressed! Thank you for trusting me and partnering with me to help your child succeed on their educational path. I hope you all have an AMAZING summer! I can't wait to see everyone next year! 🙂

5TH GRADE
Math
-We will have a kite day for our fifth graders tomorrow, May 20th, to celebrate that we are done with STAAR. Please have your student bring a kite to school tomorrow. Any kite will do. If you have one there at the house that is fine and hopefully the weather will cooperate with us. 😊
-Next Tuesday, May 24th is our field trip. Hopefully we should be leaving the school by 9am. Parents, you may come if you would like to join us. The price is $17 for parents and $17 for any young child you may bring. They do not have any specials or take coupons because they give that special rate to the schools. If you do plan to go, please let us know on DOJO so we can give them the heads up that you are going and you belong to our Meadow 5th grade team.
-All students need to bring a disposable bottled water, so if they lose it when they get on the rides or play games it is not a big deal.
-Thank you for your support.
