TCS to Move to Hybrid Learning Plan
Equity is a Core Value of the Tuscaloosa City Schools
Superintendent Mike Daria says the school system will remove barriers to ensure students have devices and online access to complete school work.
Schools Move to Instruction From Home April 6
As teachers prepare to deliver instruction in virtual formats, the system is offering online professional development to support you in this transition.

Becoming a Social Storyteller
As reality sets in for students regarding the conclusion of the 2019-2020 school year, you might be inclined to post a video of yourself reading a book to your students online. Before you do, here are a few main points to remember when doing read-a-louds online, courtesy of TCS librarians:
- Publishers have to give permission and set parameters, not authors
- Acknowledge and thank the author, illustrator, and publisher
- Follow specific publisher's guidelines - see below
- If the publisher is not listed in the document, choose another book OR ask your school librarian for help
- Be mindful of the date the video needs to be removed (also in publisher guidelines below)
- Have FUN! - not copyright information, but still important
These rules apply to both any school or personal social media accounts. If you have any questions, please contact your school's librarian.
