How To Donate To Help With Christmas For PHJH Families Through The Giving Tree
Please Welcome Mr. Chris Joyce Our New Vice Principal of Student Services and Athletics
A Little About Mr. Joyce
Hello, my name is Chris Joyce. My family and I moved here to the Salt Lake area almost three years ago. My wife and I are both born and raised in Idaho. I started teaching in the fall of 2020. I got my first teaching job with Providence Hall as a p.e teacher. Some of the most influential people in my life were involved with athletics that I played and my education. When I was done playing sports, I wanted to remain involved somehow, and that is what led me to want to teach. I wanted to still be part of the challenges that come with sports as well as be a positive role model for students just like what I had. Most who know me also understand how much I love athletics. Baseball is my favorite and I am working on trying to share that same joy for baseball with my son.
When I am not coaching or being at the school, I am spending time with my family. We really enjoy traveling and playing games. I love Providence Hall because of the amazing friends I have that work with me. I enjoy being with the students that we have and the fun that they bring with them every day to class. I am really sad to not be spending time with my classes regularly now that I am starting my new role at Providence Hall. I am someone who likes routine and this change in the middle of the year is providing me with lots of opportunities to be challenged and grow as an individual.
I am looking forward to getting to know so many of you.
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!

Beat The Teach Library Contest Reminders
A few of the students are confused about how to sign up for BEAT THE TEACH, so here is a recap in case you get questions.
The students can only sign up for one teacher to read against. They do not come to the library to sign up, they sign up on the poster that is on your door.
They will get a reading log every week, and they do get that at the library. The contest starts the day we get back from Thanksgiving break.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
