ELMO Introduces the STEM-CAM Line of Visual Presenters and Partnership With BeCreo Technologies
Elmo press release:
ELMO USA Corp., a leading manufacturer of visual presenters and corresponding education technology, is excited to announce the newest addition to our award-winning lineup of visual presenters the MA-1, MO-2, and TT-12W STEM-CAM’s! Intuitively designed for the most immersive STEM experience, the three new STEM-CAM’s open up a world of endless learning possibilities in the K-12 classroom.
As schools across the country are moving to STEM and STEAM-based curriculums, classroom technology must tangentially evolve to meet the growing demands of those programs. The STEM-CAM’s were designed to enhance hands-on learning and interactive curriculum in the classroom while providing the visual presentation support that ELMO end users know and love.
The STEM-CAM’s are the first Android-based visual presenters in ELMO’s lineup. The STEM-CAM’s will be able to access ELMO-Play, a secure and centralized source of education only apps. The app possibilities are endless and can include a QR code scanner for text books, instant translation of foreign language, and augmented reality. The STEM-CAM’s offer a generous digital zoom of up to 16x in 1080p Full HD and can capture video at 30fps (up to 60fps when connected via USB), while the TT-12W offer an additional 12x optical zoom. The MA-1 features a five inch multi-touch screen for navigation and all models are compatible with HID compliant input devices. With an output terminals offering HDMI, RGB, and USB 2.0, the STEM-CAM’s seamlessly connects to a wide array of devices and is compatible in almost every classroom setting. The STEM-CAM’s also offer built-in Miracast wireless display connectivity for easy connection to a compatible display. The MA-1 and MO-2 offer a three-hour rechargeable battery, so you never have to be tethered to a single workspace again.
The STEM-CAM line-up will include the Scottie Go! EDU app pre-installed as part of a partnership with BeCreo Technologies. Scottie Go! is an innovative game to teach programming. It is a combination of cardboard tiles, which are used by the players to create programming commands, and an app that sets tasks and scans the proposed solutions that set Scottie and other characters in motion. Scottie Go! teaches students to think analytically and logically. It also teaches them to solve complex problems, and work in a group. Overall, Scottie Go! supports the development of programming skills in early education. Discover the world of coding with Scottie Go!.

FOSTER SCHOOL COMMUNITY WITH ESPORTS
Participation in esports is exploding. The online High School esports League now has 15,000 students representing 800 schools nationwide on its platform, and the National Federation of State High School Associations just started an official national league.
In fact, colleges and universities are actively recruiting esports players and companies are looking to hire gamers experienced in all aspects of esports. Like traditional sports, esports foster community. Not only is it a powerful way to engage students who might not otherwise participate in after-school activities, it encourages teamwork, strengthens communication skills, and promotes leadership.
Start small with an esports lab equipped with high-powered PCs so that students can remotely compete with students from other schools. Add displays so they can watch the recap of the game. As your program grows (and your team gets into the playoffs!), involve your district in building an esports arena so that everyone can cheer on your esports team.
