KIS Secondary Library
Perspectives for the KIS Teaching Community
Time for a Crash Course!
Sometimes, we all just need a little "crash course" to give us background on topics we know little about or might be dangerously unaware of.
Well, Crash Course, a sensational YouTube Channel provided by John Green (yes, the smash hit author of The Fault in Our Stars and many others) and his equally talented brother Hank is an ideal way to catch up on what you might have missed.
John and Hank Green are frenetic, entertaining, and disarming as they present a range of short videos (10 to 15 minutes) on six different core subjects: World History, US History, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, and Ecology. Within each subject, they present a host of topics. It's well-worth a look!
Take some time with Crash Course--you just might learn something (oh, and your students might, too). Perhaps start with these 11-minute videos on Ancient Egypt or The Great Gatsby.
