George J. Mitchell School - Volume 2022-23 Issue XI

End of Year Message
As we approach the end of the school year, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we have shared at our beloved George J. Mitchell Elementary School. It has been a year filled with growth, achievements, and unforgettable memories.
First and foremost, I want to express my deepest gratitude to our dedicated parents and caregivers. Your unwavering support, trust, and active involvement in your child's education have been instrumental in their success. Together, we have formed a strong partnership, ensuring that our students receive the best possible education and care. Your enthusiasm at parent-teacher conferences, participating at school events, and engaging in open communication has truly made a difference in our school community.
To our talented and committed teachers, I am in awe of your passion and devotion to our students' learning. You have gone above and beyond, creating engaging lessons, fostering a nurturing environment, and inspiring our young minds to reach for the stars. Your tireless efforts have empowered our students to discover their potential, embrace challenges, and develop the skills they need to thrive academically and socially.
I also want to extend my appreciation to our exceptional support staff. From our office administrators to custodial staff, from our bus drivers to cafeteria workers, your hard work and dedication often go unnoticed but are invaluable to the smooth operation of our school. Your contributions ensure that our students feel safe, supported, and cared for each day.
Our school community is not limited to just parents and staff; it extends to the wider community as well.
To our local businesses, organizations, and volunteers who have generously supported our school initiatives, sponsored events, or provided resources, thank you for your unwavering commitment to our students' success. Your involvement has allowed us to create a vibrant learning environment that goes beyond the classroom walls.
As we bid farewell to our second grade students, we celebrate their accomplishments and wish them well as they fly on over to the Pond. We are confident that they will carry with them the values, knowledge, and friendships they have gained during their time at GJM.
In closing, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to all members of our school community. Your commitment, support, and enthusiasm have made this a truly remarkable year. It was an honor to serve as the principal of this wonderful elementary school, and I am grateful for the privilege of working alongside such remarkable individuals.
Wishing you all a restful and rejuvenating summer break filled with joy, laughter, and precious moments with your loved ones.
With warm regards,
Amy Nass
Principal
Drop-Off and Pick-Up Reminders
- If you are entering the school to sign your child in or out, you must park in one of the parking spaces. Do not leave your car unattended in the fire lane.
- Drop-off begins at 8:15, and the school doors close at 8:30 when our instructional time begins. If your child is dropped off after 8:30, you must sign them in at the front office.
Parent-Pick Up:
- Parent pick-up begins at 2:50.
- Carline #1 should begin at the crosswalk along the curb of the sidewalk and continue down the shoulder of Route 539. It is essential that cars exiting the front parking lot and making a left can see oncoming traffic.
