Friday Focus

Holy Name of Mary, April 5, 2019

Happy Friday!

Hi everyone,

I'm feeling a bit under the weather today, so I'm going to keep this one short and sweet. I'll be back to taking photos and writing more next week.

Have a great weekend!

iPad refresh

Thank you so much for your patience with the computer refresh. The iPads were returned to us on Wednesday and I was able to get a lot of work done this afternoon on cleaning and relabelling them.

The SEA iPads still have the old labels and numbers in the circle on the back of the Otter Box, but I will be adding a new label beneath the circle with the new SEA iPad number. You will also find this new number on the matching iPad cover and charger, as well as in the iPad settings.

Your SEA students have some basic apps installed right now, but if you go to their previously "purchased" apps in the App store, you will be able to redownload any other apps that they previously had installed on their iPads.

The "School" iPads will also be numbered, labelled and distributed to primary classes.

This morning Brad Stanistreet showed me how he can install a program called AirServer on the new computers so that you can wirelessly "mirror" anything from your iPad to the computer. This means that you will no longer need to use the white iPad connectors or the messy KVM switches to go back and forth between an iPad and your laptop when using the projector.

Marc or Brad should be able to get that done for us once they have finished the refresh in the rest of their schools. He expects it will take another 2 weeks.

Great stuff

Just a few photos to share this week. I was so busy I forgot to take many photos, except when I was at St. Luke on Wednesday. Their teachers have so many amazing bulletin boards there! I loved how bright and cheerful their classrooms and hallways felt. Here is a great example:
