Principal's Corner
Congratulations SLS 8th Grade!
1. One of the requirements for Confirmation is passing a written test at 90% or higher. Here are some examples of what students are expected to do:
- Explain the difference between the Laws of the Church, the Beatitudes, and the Ten Commandments.
- Define vocabulary words such as "infallibility".
- Explain the 5 Precepts of the Church.
- Know the 4 Effects of Being Confirmed.
- Know the difference between the Eucharist and Holy Communion.
You can see by the examples, we have very high standards for the students. The test is so intense that most years, some need more than one attempt to secure the needed score. But not this year! Every SLS 8th grader passed the test on the first attempt. In addition, of the 45 students who took the test, 24 scored 97% or higher, including 2 perfect scores! Religion teacher Mrs. Paul said, "I am so proud of the kids. They worked very hard."
Great job 8th grade students and Mrs. Paul!
2. This Saturday these same students will be making the Sacrament of Confirmation. From all of us at St. Louis School, congratulations 8th graders. We are very proud of you.
Mr. Chad Moeller

Vision Grant
The students then went back to the classroom and learned about the time period of the book (the 1930s) and tried to make sense of the laws of the time, namely “Separate But Equal” and how it was really anything but that. They start reading the book this week and are all super excited! Nice job, Mrs. Giesting! And, once again, thank you Joan and John Hillenbrand and the VISION Grant Committee for your generosity. This will have an impact on students for years and years to come! Thank you!
