Happy New Year!
Dear Teachers,
Happy New Year! I am so blessed to work with such an amazing group of teachers. It has been almost 2 years since I came to Jupiter. It is such a privilege to work with such a talented group of educators. Looking forward to what 2016 will bring for Jupiter!
As we move into the second part of the year, please let me know how I can support you with researching and using technology. I am happy to collaborate with you on your lessons and units anytime. :)
Regards,
Virginia
What's Happening in the Library?
K-2nd:
We will continue reading the FRA (Florida Reading Association) books. There are 8 titles and we have read half of them. If you are interested in seeing this year's titles, click on the link:

Also, this year the Florida Association of Media Educators created a book list for K-2nd. They are picture books and early chapter books. We will be reading some of the picture books together. The link to that list is: http://www.floridamedia.org/?page=SSYRA_JR
3rd-6th:
We will be working on learning to code over the next few months. This is an important skill for students to learn as we prepare them for future jobs and careers. Coding is fun and engaging and at the same time an important skill for them to learn.
All Grades: We will have our second cybersafety lesson in January. We will be talking about important tips to using good netiquette and staying safe while online. With the older students we will discuss what cyberbullying is and what it means to create a digital footprint.
