DRESS DOWN FOR CHIARI FUND RAISER FRIDAY 11/13
CURIOSITY UNLEASHED!
Students at LAS are loving STEM! STEM provides a blended learning environment and shows students how the scientific method can be applied to everyday life. It teaches students computational thinking and focuses on the real world applications of problem solving. Tech classes have been designing and building catapults, popcorn containers, and egg parachutes- all hands-on, collaborative activities. STEM Club Grades 3-5 meets Mondays in the computer lab. Ms. Gras is in need of recycled and unused materials for future projects. Please drop your items in the collection box located right outside the computer lab. In addition, there will be an "Upcycle To Dress Down" Fund Raiser on Wed., 11/25. Staff donation-$3, student donation $1, with funds going to purchase supplies and equipment.
SMILING FACES AT THE HIP-HOP SOCK HOP
Many thanks to our PTO volunteers for once again going all out for our students. Music, dancing, balloons, prizes, and lots of food! What more could we ask for? A fun night was had by all. Special shout-out to LAS staff members for volunteering their time to chaperone.
GRADE 2 PARENT WORKSHOP
Kudos go out to Ms. Hinchman and Ms. Swann for facilitating a parent workshop this past Tuesday. Topics covered included the model curriculum and homework basics.
