Keeping you Informed
Good Morning Bobcats,
Today we embark on a new journey in education as we move to remote learning. I can't express how proud I am of our entire school coming together to help each other during this transition. Below are a few articles I think you will find helpful as we make this move, and you continue your planning. I will be meeting with the department leads on Wednesday afternoon. This meeting is a check-in to see how it is going with remote learning. Please make sure to communicate what is going well and what is not going well with department leads and colleagues. Let me know how David and I can help support you with your lessons and planning. Also, if you have concerns about a student either emotionally or academically, please reach out to Sally as another resource. Good luck this week! I will more than likely do a staff check-in Thursday afternoon, which is a bit more complicated, but the goal will be for you to share experiences. If you can't make it, do not worry. I understand that everyone has different responsibilities outside, which you can't control. Lastly, check out the visible learning graphic below. John Hattie's work is well known and the higher the effect size the greater the student achievement. You might say Greg why are you overloading us with this information I have enough on my plate. Well, the reason is that your collective efficacy (PLC, working with colleagues, etc.) plays the greatest roll in not only your normal day to day teaching but also here in the remote era. I included a link to all 252 practices and how they rank in the link below the graphic. Have a great Monday and I look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday.
