This is the last week of the 5th grading period. Be sure to check Skyward for missing and failed assignments. Please contact your teachers if you need assistance in mastering the objectives in your classes.
Pre-AP Science ~ Mrs. Sanchez and Ms. Marek
Sanchez- We are rocking and rolling in our new unit called “Entertaining Innovations,” which the students are applying the knowledge of force and motion. The students are to create their own Rube Goldberg Machines to share their understanding of the content.
Marek - We are wrapping up our literature unit “Forces of Change.” We will take our unit test Friday the 6th.
STEAM Science ~ Mrs. Sanchez and Ms. Hernandez

Accelerated Science ~ Mrs. Irons
We will be launching a two week unit titled, “To Infinity and Beyond” to finish studying the universe around us. We will focus on stars, galaxies, HR Diagrams, the electromagnetic spectrum, and light years. Student Portfolios will be due March 29 and will consist of class DIYs and mini-products. We will test on Thursday, March 29.

This week students will continue with the unit over area. Students will design an apartment with a variety of rooms of different shapes and will determine the area of each room. On Friday, we will begin learning how to find volume of right rectangular prisms. The test over this unit is scheduled for April 11th.

Accelerated Math ~ Mrs. Morgan
This week we will begin our unit over data. Students will be learning to compare and analyze box plots, dot plots, and bar graphs.
Humanities ~ Mrs. Moore, Ms. Lindamood, Mrs. Strother and Ms. Peden
Students will continue to read literature circle books. All books need to completely read by April 6. The final square for the Tic-Tac-Toe board needs to be completed by April 6. We will study the events of World War II and its lasting effects on the cultural climate of Europe.
The Water for South Sudan fundraiser ends this Friday, April 6. At this point, we have collected $500 for building wells to provide safe, clean drinking water for the people of South Sudan. Please continue to support and follow the progress of our Iron Giraffe Challenge by checking out this site. See this example of a completed project to promote the fundraiser such as this commercial.
Global Business and Professional Communication ~ Ms. Tedford and Ms. Owen
This week students are creating their final drafts of the children’s stories they are writing to share their knowledge of fair trade. Next week we will share our final projects and reflect on the unit!

Beginning Band ~ Mr. Sypert

We will begin our Golf unit this week utilizing the First Tee snag equipment. We ready for an introduction on golfing etiquette and technique. Also, be sure to bring your uniform daily in order to receive full points. Keep up the great work!
