Apple Configurator Workshop
This workshop is aimed at staff looking at streamlining the management of iPads. In this hands-on workshop, you will be guided step-by-step in how to use Configurator to install the latest iOS, and a selection of free and paid apps. You will also learn how
to make and install Profiles.

Bringing History Alive with Web 2 Tools
Miller 6th September
This workshop will introduce history teachers to a variety of tools to bookmark and curate websites, create interactive timelines and produce word clouds and link these to content and outcomes in the new 7-10 History syllabus.

Integrating ICT in the new Science Syllabus K-6
Miller 9th September
This one-day workshop is an introduction to authentically integrating ICT in the new Science K-6 syllabus. Participants will have an opportunity to look at models of ICT integration, examine the new Science syllabus and a number of ICT tools and websites that are available to use with the technology already available in their schools and begin to program integrating ICT in student learning.

Creating Digital Multimodal Texts
Miller 11th and 12th September
The English K-10 Syllabus required students to study examples of media, multimedia and digital texts each year. The extensive lists of Web 2.0 tools and software and changing technology will allow students to develop interactive and ingenious products in such texts. How will teachers ensure that students are creating appropriate, engaging and exciting digital multimodal texts? It begins with the teacher serving as a role model by demonstrating a willingness to learn and change.

Transforming teaching in English using Tablet Technology (iPads) K-10
Tablet technologies have the potential to truly transform the way we interact with the world around us. Significant impacts of tablets include providing ease of access, enabling individualised learning, facilitating enhanced communication, and making learning mobile. So how do you foster transformative learning with tablet devices in the English KLA? It begins with the educator serving as a role model by demonstrating a willingness to learn and change.

Enhancing learning through the integration of Tablet Technology (iPads)

This two-day course will equip participants to authentically integrate the use of iPad tablets in the teaching and learning cycle. Participants will have an opportunity to independently explore and evaluate a range of apps for education. The course will cover the pedagogy, logistics, management and effective usage of iPads.

FREE WEB 2.0 WONDERS
Tools and Websites for Teaching and Learning
Flubaroo - a self assessment quiz tool that you can set up through Google Forms. Straightforward to set up and easy to use. Teachers can create the form using a Google account (and soon through the portal), then students answer questions and Flubaroo produces a spreadsheet with results and more. This is unblocked for K-12 students.
Publish a Google document to the web - Create a Google document in Google Drive, click 'File' then 'Publish to the web' - you can republish automatically if changes are made. This is useful to give links to staff, students and parents. More information
Send your tweets to a Google spreadsheet, tag your tweets and send them to facebook, share your links on tumblr, save links from favourite links in pocket.

I am a learner who loves to try new ideas when teaching. I have completed a Graduate Certificate in ICT Education and more recently a Masters in ICT in Education at CSU. I trialled blogED with my opportunity class before it came out and this year became a DEC Google Champion to assist teachers when Google Apps is available in our portal.
